Are You Honoring the Divine Within You?

I found myself in deep conversation, and something came through that I couldn’t shake:
If the Divine is within us, why don’t we treat ourselves that way?
We say our bodies are temples, but how often do we treat them like sacred ground? We say we believe in a higher power, yet we neglect the vessel that carries divine breath. We speak of healing and purpose, but rarely do we make offerings to the sacred presence within.
This isn’t about guilt. It’s about remembrance.
We have been conditioned to survive, not to worship. We live in a world that profits from our disconnection. We forget that discipline is a form of devotion. We forget that sacrifice isn’t just giving things up—it’s giving to something greater.
So I’ve decided: I want to live as an offering.
Not performatively, but intentionally. Not out of shame, but out of reverence. Not to prove something, but to return to the truth: The Divine lives in me.
What Does It Mean to Honor the Divine Within?
To honor the sacred presence within is to:
Nourish your body with living, vibrant food
Speak words to yourself that are kind and true
Make time for silence, for breath, for sacred stillness
Cleanse your space like it’s holy ground (because it is)
Move your body like it carries divinity (because it does)
Fast not to punish, but to purify
Rest not from exhaustion, but as a sacred right
This is the path I’m on now. Not perfectly. But with intention. I’ve entered a season of sacred discipline—A returning.
Every sip of water, every moment of stillness, every raw meal, every breath of prayer— it’s all part of remembering.
Ask Yourself:
If the sacred lives in you, how should you speak to yourself?
What should you be feeding your temple?
How would you move, dress, love, rest, and serve if you truly believed something Divine lived within you?
We don’t need more performance. We need more presence. We don’t need more shame. We need more sacredness.
You are the altar. Your breath is the incense. Your life is the offering.
Start again today. Or tomorrow. Just start.
With intent, love, and deep remembrance,
Nia Mae
Thank you for this post. It prompted me to do some deep diving which led me to some answers I needed. This post reflects the beautiful spirit I saw when my mother and I met you yesterday at the Soulfull Vegan Fest. I meditated on the beautiful yoga mat I purchased from you. I look forward to reading more of your enlightening content.
